Ida was born on November 27, 1941, in Lake, Mississippi, to Cubby and Birdie Myers. She married Robert Simpson on August 31, 1957, in Big Spring. Together they had Jeffery Simpson and Timothy Simpson. Ida loved flowers and often sang to her many houseplants. She was devoted to Bob, the love of her life, and her children, grandchildren, and siblings.
Ida is survived by her sons, sisters Peggy Massey and Frances Pitts, daughter-in-law Pam, grandchildren Joshua, Jonathan (fiancée Ashley), Lacey, Kristen (husband Nick Andrews), and Grace (husband Thomas Doven), and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Samuel, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, and siblings Louise, Nell, Jeffery (Dude), and Jack.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
