Irene Anderson Pait, 90, of Bladenboro, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Liberty Commons in Whiteville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Sally Tyler Anderson; her husband, Carl "Hubbard" Pait; her son, Andy Pait; her sister, Daisy Cain; and her brothers: Junior, Johnny, and Dalton Anderson.
Irene is survived by her loving children: Michael Pait (Diane) of Shallotte, Tammy Bradshaw (Jesse) of Bladenboro, Kelly Spagnoletti (Mike) of Allison Park, PA, and Tony Pait (Jessica) of Lumberton. She will also be remembered fondly by her brother, Ronnie Anderson of Texas and her grandchildren: Erica Bradshaw, Bradley Pait (Ellie), Stephen Pait, Jonathan Bradshaw (Susan), Samantha Hamilton (Blake), Allison Hightower (Dean), Rachel Spagnoletti, Simon Rosen, Suzanne Bordeaux (AJ), Leah Pait, Nikka Pait, Grace Pait, Kristen Barkey (Wayde), along with her sixteen great-grandchildren.
Irene was a devoted lab technician for many years, working tirelessly to help support her family. Her commitment to her work paralleled the dedication she showed at home, where she instilled values of hard work and perseverance in her children. Irene was particularly proud of her family, delighting in the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A woman of strong Christian faith, Irene immersed herself in her church community. For years, she volunteered on the hostess committee, showcasing her talents, particularly in baking. She became well-known for her delicious pineapple cake and ice cream cake, treats that brought joy to many gatherings. Her love for her church and her faith was a cornerstone of her life.
In addition to her deep commitment to faith and family, Irene had a variety of hobbies and interests. She enjoyed reading and loved watching Westerns. Her creative spirit shone through in her ability to decorate, often transforming spaces with her flair for making something from nothing.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday, June 30th at Bladen-Gaskins Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A funeral service will take place at 11am on Tuesday, July 1st at Galeed Baptist Church in Bladenboro with Reverend Brett Young and Dr. Mack Roberts officiating services. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Irene's life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family and community, her deep-rooted faith, and her ability to bring people together through her kindness and culinary skills. She will be profoundly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
