J.P. Kenaston, a much beloved son, passed away at his home on July 8, 2025. J.P. was a caring gentle soul who will be forever missed.
J.P. attended CSAS and graduated from Notre Dame High School. He attended UTC and Chattanooga State. He was fortunate to have a twenty-six-year career at Lupis Pizza Pies as a house accountant. Lupi's was a second family to him, and he treasured his friendship there.
Music was his passion. He played several instruments, including bass guitar. His knowledge of musicians and their work was encyclopedic, and he loved sharing that knowledge. He was a voracious reader. His dog, Thurber, was another passion and was his constant companion.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed Jones of Chattanooga and Nashville, Charles and Margaret Whitworth of Rome, GA and Harold and Judy Collins of Luray, VA.
He is survived by his mother, Sher Kenaston, his uncle Ed Jones of Chattanooga, his aunt and uncle, David (Barbara) Whitworth of St. Simonds and Charles (Behts) Whitworth of Montpelier, France. He also leaves behind many friends and cousins.
