MICHAEL ROBERT GUZMAN, affectionately known as Mike, was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on May 1, 1934, in Superior, AZ, he graced this world with his presence until May 14, 2025, when he departed peacefully in Globe, AZ, leaving behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Mike dedicated 16 years of his life to owning and operating Guzman Construction, a testament to his hard work and determination. He was proud to graduate from Superior High School, a foundation that led him to build not only structures but also a family and a community.
Mike thrived on spending quality time with his beloved family. He reveled in moments shared with his wife, Margot, with whom he found a partner in life and adventure. Their travels together were filled with laughter and discoveries, adding chapters to their lifelong story. Mike’s joy was magnified in the company of his children: Martha, Michael, Michele, Mark, Melissa, and Martin, and his loving son Marlon. His heart overflowed with pride for his 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought unique joy into his life.
Mike's personality was as vibrant as his many hobbies. He loved riding horses, hunting, fishing, and golfing. It was not unusual to see him at the gym, or cruising in his side-by-side with friends, or boating at the lake. His adventurous spirit also led him to enjoy water skiing and snowboarding, activities that echoed his zest for life. With his devoted dog, Shaggy, he could often be found at the park or making quick trips to the post office.
A member of the Lion's Club for many years, Mike understood the importance of community and giving back. His kindness and willingness to lend a helping hand touched many lives, and his legacy will resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
Mike was predeceased by his sons, Morris and Matthew, his sister Helen Romero, and brothers Morris “Godoy” Guzman and Vane Guzman. Each of them holds a special place in the hearts of those he leaves behind, and their memories will forever intertwine with his in a tapestry of love and resilience.
As we gather to celebrate his remarkable life, visitation will take place at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami, AZ, on May 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Rosary at 5:00 PM. A Mass in his honor will be held the next day, May 23, 2025, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Superior, AZ, at 10:00 AM.
In the embrace of his family and friends, MIKE will continue to shine brightly in their hearts, a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know him. His cherished memories will live on, reminding us to appreciate life's simple pleasures and the profound connections that bind us together.
