MURFREESBORO, NC - Jackie Owen White, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, in Ahoskie, North Carolina after a brief illness. Born on December 25, 1960, in Gallipolis, Ohio, he was 64 years old at the time of his passing.

Jackie's life was a testament to hard work, love for family, and appreciation for nature and his career was as diverse as it was fulfilling. Starting his career in Ohio, he had a deep connection to the land, working alongside Keith Corbin in farming tobacco and tomatoes, as well as wrangling bulls. He excelled in various fields, including HVAC and electrical work and after relocating to North Carolina in 2001, a move that was inspired by his daughter Sandra, and soon after, his daughter Jessica followed him there, Jackie continued his professional journey by working for Jim Ennis at Mechanical Air in Greenville. Eventually, he retired, having made significant contributions to each of his chosen professions. His hands were never idle, and his heart was always full.

In addition to his professional achievements, Jackie found joy and solace in the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, often escaping to his favorite retreat, "Potholes," a small private island near Lake Gaston, for peace and solitude, taking only himself faithful canine companion Dixie. He had a special talent for identifying sassafras trees from afar and enjoyed making sassafras tea, understanding the healing qualities of sassafras. His family remembers fondly how he would whip up a batch of sassafras tea anytime someone felt a little ill.

Jackie was quite a jokester and had nicknames for almost everyone in the family. Each nickname had a story behind it that the family will reminisce about for ages to come. Some of the nicknames he had were Sandra "Dinky", Jessica "Sue", Randi "Baby Girl", Aaron "Nine", Eric "Justin", Jackie "Speed", Scottie "Hooter Dude", Ryan "RyRy", Richard "Ducky", and Timothy "Humpnut".

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Johnson White and Jesse Alvin White, his first wife and the mother of his children, Tracey Dawn White, and his canine friend, Dixie.

Above all, Jackie treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy of love and laughter will endure through his surviving wife, Rhonda Renee Roberson White, and his children Sandra Dawn White and her husband Timothy, Jessica Sue White Carroll and her husband Timothy, Randi Renee Powers and her husband Dillan, Jackie Owen White, Jr. and his wife Crystal, Eric Justin White and his wife Heather, Aaron Todd White; Ryan Caleb Darst, Scottie Lee White, and Richard Warren Gardner, Jr. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Christopher; Jackie, III; Cory Alimo; B.J.; Chasity; Scott, II; Dylan; Conner; Aaron, II; MaKenzie; Liliyana; Allyssa; Levi; Destiny; Julianna; Jasmine; Cheyenne; Riley Donovon; Eli; Zack; Jadenn; Riley; Corey Lucas; Adalynn; Oaklea; Lillith, and his cherished great-grandchildren: Sabor; Marina; Nakilia. We cannot forget his sweet canine Elsa, whom he loved dearly, will miss him as well.

A private celebration of Jackie's life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather and remember the warmth and kindness he shared with all who knew him.
