In following Jackie’s wishes, private family services for Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Holslin of Alberta, Minnesota, will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta. In Summer of 2025, a Celebration of Life for Jackie will be held. Burial will be at Frog Lake Cemetery, rural Alberta.
Jacqueline Renae Hagen was born on July 17, 1966, the third child to Dean and Ginger (Gjerde) Hagen in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When Jackie was in the 4th grade, the family moved to a farm near Alberta, she continued her education at Chokio-Alberta School, graduating with the high school class of 1984. After high school Jackie attended Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota, for Cosmetology. Jackie lived and worked for a short time in Minneapolis before moving back to Alberta. She was united in marriage to Mark Holslin on February 10, 1990 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Chokio. They made their home on a farm near Alberta where Mark and Jackie worked side by side and welcomed three children: Amanda, Justin, and William. When the kids were in school, Jackie would fill in as a paraprofessional at Chokio-Alberta schools.
Jackie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alberta and a member of the Alberta Wildlife Federation. She was a fan of watching football and participating in Fantasy Football leagues where she was either really good or really bad! She loved the outdoors, especially watching birds from the deck, sitting around a bonfire and their trips to Fort Meyers Beach, Florida. Jackie was a dear friend and spent many hours with her friends – having a Michelob at the Alberta Bar, spending time at the casino, singing karaoke and dancing, and getting pedicures. Jackie cherished the time that she spent with her family, cooking for them and hosting many for family events and holidays. When her boys were young, the family traveled all over for sporting events, enjoying the hotel pool in the evenings! In addition to spending time with her family, she looked forward to her daily calls with Amanda, sharing time with Mark, enjoying a night out with friends, and her trips to Casey’s to get fountain Dt. Cokes.
Jackie died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, she was 58 years old.
Jackie is survived by her husband: Mark Holslin of Alberta; daughter: Amanda (Ben Kruize) Holslin of Elbow Lake; sons: Justin Holslin and William (Payton Schaefer) Holslin both of Alberta; baby Holslin coming in January 2026; father: Dean Hagen of Alberta; sister: Michelle (Dan) Machart of Finley, ND; brother: Ken (Tina) Hagen of Coon Rapids; father-in-law, Maurice Holslin of Alberta; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dale (Laura) Holslin, Paul Holslin, and Beth (Todd) Hottovy of Morris; niece and bonus daughter, Kayla (Russ) Parkin of Des Moines, IA; nieces and nephews: Christine (Sean) Dwyer of Fargo, ND, Jake Machart of Finley, ND, Christian (Samina) Holslin of New York City, NY, Peter Holslin of Salt Lake City, UT Jason (Liz) Holslin of Chisago City, Kalley Hottovy of Bloomington, Bailey Hottovy of Morris, and Lauren Hottovy of Morris; and other extended family and a host of friends.
