Jacqueline "Jackie" Josephine (Fitzgerald) Schuttler, age 83, of Fonda, Iowa passed away Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Memorial Mass will take place Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Fonda, Iowa officiated by her great-nephew, Father Travis Crotty. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the CHURCH. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Fonda is in charge of the arrangements.
Jackie was born on April 1, 1941, to William Emmet and Mary Helen (Wiewel) Fitzgerald, becoming the tenth of fifteen children. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Fonda, where she also attended school. She would later graduate from Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.
Jackie embraced many roles throughout her life, including being a mother to three children and strays along the way. When she and her husband, Lyle, lived in Berwick, she was an instructor at DMACC and then spent 15 years as the office manager at Todd's LTD. After returning to Fonda, she worked in the Fonda Care Center office and the Shamrock Inn. Jackie was a devout Catholic who loved to sing at service, often leading the rosary at Mass. She was also a valiant prayer warrior.
Jackie was an excellent cook and hosted many lively family get-togethers. She was known throughout the community for her fudge that she delivered to friends during the holiday season. She had an excellent memory and loved weaving tales of family and Fonda history. Life was an adventure for Jackie full of high kicks, laughs, and a sprinkle of sass.
Jackie is survived by her daughters: Rayne and Paige; grandchildren: Levi, Elyssa, Chance, and Wyatt; great-grandchildren Drew, Abigail (Rocco), and Jade; four great-great grandchildren; siblings: Sharon, Judy, and Tim; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Emmet and Helen, husband: Lyle; son: Todd; and siblings: Terry, Patricia, Sidney, Michael, Rodney, Susan, Anthony, Mary Penelope, Kelly, Stephanie, and Rebecca.
