Jacqueline Sleeman Obituary

Jacqueline Jean "Jackie" Rowe Sleeman, age 81 years, a resident of Elkins, WV, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
She was born Sunday, January 30, 1944, at Elkins, WV, a daughter of the late Herman Rowe, Sr. and Margaret Price Rowe. On July 3, 1962, she was married to James Allen Sleeman, who preceded her in death during 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula J. Harris and husband Brad of Gilman and Lisa A. Mussi of Elkins; two grandchildren, Mark Harris and wife Kaela of Elkins and Nick Harris of Elkins; two great grandchildren, Aria and Aliyah Harris, who were the loves of her life.; two brothers, Tom Rowe and wife Sue and Bill Rowe and wife Reba, all of Montrose; three sisters, Patricia Long and Eloise Wilson, both of Elkins and Barbara Rowe of Ohio; several nieces and nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death is one son, James Michael Sleeman; one grandson, Christopher M. Mussi; one brother, Herman Rowe, Jr. and his wife Judy, who survives at Michigan.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1961. She and her husband lived in Titusville, Fla for several years before moving back to Elkins. She had worked at the former Neales Drug Store, the Dari Delite, Montgomery Ward, K-Mart, and retired from Walmart in 2008. She was an excellent baker and enjoyed painting and working puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was gentle and soft-spoken with a contagious smile. A faithful servant of the Lord and is now at peace in the arms of our Lord and in his light we will find comfort.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 1 PM. Pastor Leon Brown will officiate and interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery at Elkins, WV. The family suggest that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to Mt. Hospice; Childlife Program WVU Children's Hospital - wvumedicine.org.
