Jim Boyle, beloved son of Clyde T. Boyle and Lola G. Hamilton, was born on February 3, 1944 in Tacoma, Washington, where he formed a lifelong bond with the community he cherished deeply.
Jim's early years were shaped by his Catholic education, attending Sacred Heart and Saint Ann's schools before graduating from Bellarmine Preparatory School in 1962. He continued his academic journey at Central Washington University where he played collegiate golf. He later earned both his Master's and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Professionally, James made a lasting impact working with the State Probation system, the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, and the Pierce County Alliance. His commitment to public service and mental health left a legacy of care, respect, and dignity for those he worked with and helped.
Beyond his professional achievements, Jim lived a full and passionate life. He followed his father as a proud member of Firscrest Golf Club, where he served on the board and achieved the remarkable feat of seven holes-in-one-a testament to both his skill and love for the game. An enthusiastic sports fan, Jim was a longtime UW football season ticket holder and had a deep appreciation for classic cars, often spending time restoring, showing, and admiring them.
Jim Boyle will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments and hobbies but also for his warmth, sense of humor, and the kindness he extended to everyone he met. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the community he served, and the family who loved him dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Kathy, his son Marcus, daughter Marlo, granddaughter Katie, and his younger brothers Tom (deceased) and Jeff.
