James "Jamie" Robert Brown was born on December 4, 1971, and passed away peacefully at the age of 54 on December 15, 2025 with his children by his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Brown and Sandra Smith Brown; his grandson, Rylen Scott Brown; and a special uncle, Joe Brown.
Jamie is survived by his son, James "Jay" Ernest Brown, and his wife, Kali, of Roanoke Rapids; his son, Devan Scott Brown and his girlfriend, Savannah, of Como, NC; his daughter, Tiffany Flythe of Woodland, NC; and his beloved grandchildren, Robert Steven, Sophia Leanne, Ryan Scott, Carter James, Lainey Faye, and Aiden James. He is also survived by his sisters, Angie Brown Hobbs and Sherry Brown Boyd, both of Ahoskie; his uncles, T.R. Brown and Jimmy Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A native of Hertford County, Jamie spent most of his life in Northampton County. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and camping along the Chowan River. Jamie also enjoyed relaxing while watching NASCAR races and NFL football. Above all, he treasured time spent with his family, particularly his grandchildren, who were truly the light of his life.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial service.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to his caregivers at Signature Healthcare of Roanoke Rapids, Rich Square Nursing and Rehab, Gentiva Hospice of Roanoke Rapids, Northampton County Department of Social Services, and to all former home health caregivers who provided care and compassion over the past 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made in Jamie's honor to a long-term care facility or a Department of Social Services Angel Tree program of your choosing.
