James F. Czadzeck, age 83, of St. Helen, Michigan passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, October 4, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Jim was born on August 15, 1942, at Mercy Hospital in Monroe, Michigan, to the late John and Kathryn (Hood) Czadzeck. After a few years in Flat Rock, his parents moved to Wyandotte, where he grew up with his younger brother Jerry. He developed many life-long friends, graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1960 where he was a member of the band and the rowing crew.
On his 18th birthday, he proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served 3 years as a radio operator and was promoted to the rank of Corporal. In 1963, Jim was honorably discharged and returned to Wyandotte. There he worked full time, attended college, and married Virginia (Ginny) Gengle. He began his career as a Parts Analyst at Ford Motor Company in 1966.
He resided in Dearborn Heights for 30 years, spending his free time at his riverside cottage in St. Helen. Jim engaged in many activities, most revolving around his life-long love of the outdoors. After retiring from Ford, he enjoyed fishing, reading, travelling, and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. His last 25 years were spent at his home in St. Helen where he loved spoiling the neighborhood dogs and was recognized by many on his daily morning walks.
Jim is survived by Ginny, his beloved wife of 60 years; their son Steven, daughter-in-law Staci, and granddaughters Zoe and Clair of Spring Lake; his brother Jerry (Patricia) Czadzeck of Florida; several cousins; treasured in-laws; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be no funeral service at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Richfield Township Public Library in St. Helen, Michigan.
