James L. Dekker, Jr., age 63, of Scotts, Michigan passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
James was born on March 9, 1962 in Kalamazoo Michigan. The son of James L. Dekker, Sr. and Sharon A. Eisenhardt.
He is survived by his parents; his children: James L. Dekker, III (Heather) of Georgia, Emilee (Devon) Jones of Dowling, Chelsea (Jarred) Bradfield of Tennessee and Mareea (Douglas) Dekker of New York; sister: Julie A. Dekker of Colon, Michigan; nieces: Amber (Ben) Hammon of Delton, Shalyn (Phil) Kasnowicz of Alto; grandchildren: Whyatt, Dakota, Matthew, Memphis, and an unborn grandson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews.
James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tracy; bonus dad: Paul "Champ" Eisenhardt, bonus mom: Janice Dekker; grandparents: Arnold Leedy, Julia Leedy-Williams, Gertrude Cassidy, Alert & Bella Dekker; uncles: John DeBoer, Joe Dekker, Al Dekker; aunt: Stacy Didee; and cousin: Virginia DeBoer.
James attended high school at Loy Norix. After high school, he enlisted into the U.S. Army.
He was an over-the-road truck driver for many years.
His passions in life were his grandchildren, playing video games, playing music trivia with his girls, NASCAR, the Pittsburg Steelers, bonfires and beer.
He was a man of very few words, but he sure had an infectious laugh. The three stooges were his idols.
James was happiest when he was surrounded by family and friends. James will be missed by many.
