James A. Gray, 79, of Piqua, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Friday, July 11, 2025 at Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. He was born May 15, 1946 in Troy to the late Carl and Helen (Miller) Gray. He married the former Virginia Guthrie on December 19, 1970, who survives.
James is survived by his three children, Cory (Loretta) Gray of Piqua, Todd (Tess) Gray of Piqua and Dereck Gray of Tipp City; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by stepmother, Eunice (Smock) Gray.
James was a graduate of Piqua Central, class of 1964. He worked as a Printer for the former Hammer Graphics in Piqua for over 30 years. James raced and watched drag racing at the former Pence's drag strip. He belonged to the Corvette Troy Club and the VFW. He was also a past OHSAA High School umpire. In his spare time, James liked to work in his yard and tinker on his cars.
A visitation for James will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or American Lung Association. Guestbook condolences and expressions of sympathy, to be provided to the family, may be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
