James M. "Jim" GriffinJames M. "Jim" Griffin passed away on July 17, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born on July 4, 1950, in Lawrence, Massachusetts, to Edward Griffin and Nora Agnes "Buttons" Griffin. He is survived by his wife and favorite golf partner, Kerry O'Donoghue; his daughters Katie Neel (and her husband Sean), and Karen Griffin; his sister Catherine Ouellette (Bill); his brothers Michael Griffin (Mary Alice), Tom Griffin (Sandy); and his sister Peggy Zeytoonian. He was a proud grandfather to Gavin and Gracye Neel, and Shaye Griffin, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Jim is also lovingly remembered by his former wives, Kathy Wall Pelletier and Lori Goyette Griffin, with whom he remained close throughout his life, and by Amanda Bartlett, the mother of his grandson Shaye. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Eddie and Bobby, and his beloved son, Danny. Jim graduated from Lawrence Vocational Technical School in 1968 and was a highly skilled carpenter who could fix just about anything. He worked for Raytheon for over 30 years before retiring in 2007. Shortly after, he and Kerry relocated to South Florida to play as much golf as possible and enjoy the sunshine.

Jim and Kerry met at Windham Country Club in New Hampshire, where a strong friendship and mutual love of golf turned into a lasting partnership. They lived in Hobe Sound and were longtime members of Lost Lake Golf Club, where they made some of their closest and dearest friends. In 2021, they moved to Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club in Palm City-fulfilling a lifelong dream of Jim's to live in a private golf community. It exceeded expectations, offering friendships, laughter, and countless rounds of memorable golf.

Some of Jim's most treasured moments were spent on the golf course with his nephews Shaun and Chris Griffin. The ongoing banter, teasing, and good-natured ribbing were both ridiculous and hilarious-pure entertainment for anyone lucky enough to witness it. The joy and love shared in those moments will be remembered fondly by all. Jim had strong opinions and never hesitated to share them, often sparking memorable conversations. He was loyal, funny, and deeply loved by those who knew him. His presence will be missed beyond words.

Celebration of life ceremonies will be held October 17th at Windham Country Club in Massachusetts from 4-6pm and the Palm City date yet to be determined. In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Big Dog Ranch Rescue or to The Treasure Coast Hospice.
