At age 87, Jim passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Born on October 13, 1937, in Rochester, NY, to the late Lawrence and Edna (Hunt) Guilford. In addition to his parents, Jim is predeceased by his wife, Sondra (Appleby), his daughter, Valerie Farr, and his granddaughters, Emily Guilford and Arika Farr. Survived by his children, Cynthia Meyer, Jamie (Timothy) Calway, and Timothy (Dawn) Guilford, his sister, Harriet Hurlburt, and his 10 grandchildren, along with his 16 great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Jim started his professional career with a degree from RIT in Graphic Design, working for Zippo Lighter and Bob Wright Studios. He then found his niche' in carpentry, which allowed him to pass on his expertise to family and friends. Jim led a very storied life that included his children and grandchildren. His love for music, art, and adventurous travels filled his life. One of his favorite pastimes was telling stories, which always started with "let me tell ya a little something." Jim was always one to find a friend in every crowd, which fostered many friendships along his path. He will be dearly missed by all.

Friends and family are invited to call from 10 AM - 12 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 21 Big Tree Street in Livonia, where Jim's Funeral Service will immediately follow at 12 PM. Interment will take place privately at Oak Ridge Cemetery on Coe Road in Livonia.
