James is survived by his wife, Marcia Lawrence Hunter; his sister, Valerie Summers; his brother-in-law, Alan Herzog; his nephews, Brandon Herzog, Michael Herzog, and Steve Summers; and a niece, Chelsea Summers.
James was known for his ability to fix anything and everything, his shop was the neighborhood hangout where everyone brought something to be repaired. He was affectionately known as "Tiny". James had a huge heart and was always willing and ready to help others. He was an avid fisherman and he loved his boat, where any day fishing was a good day. He also enjoyed motorcycles and trikes, he even built several trikes.
