James David Jirasek, age 86, of Troy passed from this life during the early morning hours of Saturday, July 12, 2025, at a Temple nursing home. James was born on the 27th day of August 1938 in Temple, Texas to his parents Henek Dublaslau Jirasek and Sadie Josephine Jirasek.
James has been a resident of Temple for his entire life. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country for many years. On August 20, 2004, James married Linda Jirasek in Huntsville, Texas. James attended the Assembly of God and was very committed to his faith. James worked as an Appliance Technician and Inventor for most of his life. He will be deeply missed by his many friends and family.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Linda Carol Jirasek, sons David Jirasek, Darrell Jirasek, and Randy Jirasek, daughters June Leavy and Julie Boring, as well as thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 10 o'clock a.m. with Tim Weddle officiating. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5 o'clock p.m. to 8 o'clock p.m. Following the service, James will be buried in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
