James Harry "Jim" Lavin, age 76, born in Canton, OH to Alfred and Bebe Lavin, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Throughout his life, Jim was a passionate and dedicated individual, known for his entrepreneurial spirit and love for retail. He owned his own clothing and retail stores and managed various retail chains, leaving a mark on the industry with his keen business acumen. Jim was a lover of many things, from fishing and spending time on the beach to enjoying the thrill of riding his motorcycle in his younger years. He had a deep appreciation for good rock and roll music and could often be found listening to his favorite bands, including Joe Walsh, The Eagles, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. An animal lover at heart, Jim had a special bond with his cats, who brought him so much joy and companionship. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cindy Lavin, and his parents, Alfred and Bebe Lavin. He is survived by his brother Andrew Lavin and his sons Evan Lavin and Travis Lambert. A small ceremony will be held in Siesta Key, Florida, with the date to be determined. In a final act of love, Jim and Cindy's ashes will be spread at sea, fulfilling their wish to remain together in eternity. Jim's legacy of love, laughter, adventure, and music will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the Lavin family and invites you to sign the online registry at www.gentrygriffey.com.
