James L. Munson

HUDSON, OH - James L. Munson, 92, died July 9, 2025.

Born in Harvey, IL, he was raised in Calumet City, IL, served proudly in the U.S. Army, and married Joan Dolak on January 31, 1959. Together they moved to Hudson in 1976, where he lived until the time of his death.

Preceded in death by his wife Joan in 2023, his parents, Arbey and Dorothy Shake Munson; niece, Mary Lou Byrne, and nephew, Jim Oliver, he is survived by sons, David (Laura) and Tom (Lisa); daughter, Christy (David) Cuppage; grandchildren, Amanda (Jeremy), Matthew (Carsyn) and their son, Myles; Bryan, Scottie (Lauren) and their son, Jack, Andy, Meghan (Collin), Ellen (Daniel), Michael, and Nick; nieces and nephews, Jack Oliver, Marge Kacak, Ed (Sue) Kusnir, and Ginny Kusnir.

Funeral service will be held Monday, July 14, 2025 at 10 AM at Christ Church Episcopal, 21 Aurora Street, Hudson, OH 44236.

Burial, with military honors, will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ Church Episcopal, (www.christchurchhudson.com), or to the American Legion Auxiliary (www.legion-aux.org).
