James Parks, Jr. Obituary

James Harold Parks, Jr, passed away peacefully at the age of 88, on Monday, July 28, 2025 in Midland, Texas. He was born June 17, 1937, in Big Spring, Texas, to James Harold Parks and Oberia Mae Parks.
After graduating from Big Spring High School, James, or Jimmie as he was known by his school friends, served in the Marine Corps from 1957 to 1959. Upon completion of his service, he enrolled and graduated from North Texas State University where he met his wife, Patricia Ann Conway. James and Patricia were married on August 25, 1960, and lived briefly in Dallas before moving to Big Spring in 1963.
After returning to Big Spring, he joined Tate, Bristow, and Parks Insurance Agency where he later became the principal partner for the Parks Agency.
He was active in the Lions Club, was a board member for the YMCA, was an Ambassador and loved to play racquetball and hunt.
Until very recently James and Pat resided in Big Spring where they raised their two children James and Stacey Parks.
James is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Ann, his son James, daughter-in-law Tracy and grandchildren, Jordan and Lawson Parks.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Stacey Conway Parks, his parents James and Oberia Parks, and his sister Rose Nelle Parks Shaffer.
No services are planned.
