James Aaron Smith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away in Ecru, MS. on July 3, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on March 1, 1983, in Batesville, Mississippi, he was a person of remarkable character who dedicated his life to his family and community. He was from Oakland, MS.

James is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Smith, and their six children. His daughters include Salena Hollinger from Ripley, Tabatha Rodger from Ripley, and Madison Smith from Booneville. He is also survived by his three sons, Matthew Smith from Booneville, Hunter Smith from Coffeeville, and Bubba Rodgers from Ripley. Adding to his legacy is his grandchild, Everlyn Kay Manuel, who brought joy to his life.

James is further mourned by his sister, Bettye Durham of Arlington, Tennessee, who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Smith and Loretta Smith, and his grandfather, Aaron Smith, who all played significant roles in shaping the man he became.

A visitation with family will be held on July 5, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Belle Memorial Funeral Home, located at 138 E Washington St, Bruce, MS 38915. This will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together in honor of James and share cherished memories.

James Aaron Smith will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his warmth, and the countless lives he touched in his community. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
