James (Pops) Ray Willard, age 76, a cherished father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully in his home in Anderson MO on July 17, 2025. James was born March 16, 1948 to Charles and Clarabell Willard in Crenshaw, Mississippi. Before moving to Missouri in 2011 he had lived in Arkansas and Florida. He enjoyed fishing, squirrel hunting, knife throwing, classic movies and was a skilled craftsman of model ships and planes. James is survived by his children Jimmy Willard, Dee Anna Fields, Larry Willard & wife Angela, Brandon Willard and Michael Stillwagon; his grandchildren Steffany Willard & wife Annie, Raven McAdams & husband Aaron, Carly Fields, Kaili Burns, Justin Salter, Shawn Buchanan, James Willard and Hailey Willard; and his great grandchildren Bentley, Trinity, Todd, Troy and Teagan. James was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Charlotte Clark and his son Charles Willard.
James has been entrusted to Ozark Funeral Homes in Anderson MO for cremation. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
