Jane Elizabeth Truett, age 69, of Idalou, went to live with Jesus on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. She touched many lives, from friends and neighbors to Texas Tech students. She was born on December 21, 1955, and raised in Brownwood, Texas. Jane graduated from Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science. Shortly after she married Rynn Truett. Rynn and Jane built their lives on a farm in Idalou. They were blessed with two sons, Blake- and Kent. She worked as director of a day care center in Lubbock for four years. Next came a four year stint at the Idalou Chamber of Commerce. After that she was a stay-at-home mom until their children were grown and then she went to work at Texas Tech as an advisor to undecided arts and sciences students. This was her favorite job and earned her the title of "Mama Jane" to many of the students. Rynn and Jane were blessed with early retirements, and both have been retired for 13 years. Then the fairytale began. They loved to travel, including a number of cruises, which was her favorite. She also loved Ruidoso, where they spent many days in the mountains. Jane is survived by her husband Rynn of 45 years and two sons:Blake Truett and his wife Ruthie, grand-daughters, Auden and Isla, Kent Truett and his wife, Cheryl and grand-daughters, Amelia and Viviane, sister, Marriane Tacket and husband Rex. Her family would like to thank all their friends and family for their prayers and support. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00PM, Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Idalou, 102 East 7thSt, Idalou, TX, 79329. A visitation will follow the service in the Fellowship Hall at the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the personal care of the Moore-Rose Funeral Home of Idalou. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Idalou Meals on Wheels. Online condolences may be made at www.moore-rose.com.
