Karen A. Collins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at Harborside in Plymouth on October 20, 2025, after a long illness. She was born on April 4, 1947, in Boston, to the late Edmund and Constance (Maddock) Lavin. Karen's early education took place in Avon, culminating in her graduation from St. Michael's High School.
In her later years, Karen moved to Plymouth, where she dedicated herself to a career in the health care industry, notably at Plymouth Crossing. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others were hallmarks of her character, and she touched the lives of many during her time in the field.
Karen is survived by her two cherished daughters,Tina Myers and her husband Scott of Plymouth Michelle Miers and her husband Steve of Marshfield. She was also the proud grandmother of Anthony Myers Shai Myers and Samara Shea, and a loving great-grandmother to Michael Myers. Karen was predeceased by her son, Patrick Collins, whose memory she held dear in her heart.
She is also survived by her siblings: Father Thomas Lavin, Joseph Lavin, Edmund (Teddy) Lavin, Mary Belmont, and Theresa Gazzola, along with the late Harold Lavin. The bonds of family were incredibly important to Karen, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours will be held at the Cartmell-Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, located at 373 Court St., North Plymouth, on Friday, October 24th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Manomet Cemetery.
In honoring Karen's life, we remember her warmth, her unwavering love for her family, and her gentle spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
