Janet Combs Obituary

Janet Luke Combs, 77, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025. 

Born on November 13, 1947 in Anderson, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Jimmie Bailey Luke and S. Archie Luke.

Jan was a devoted and lifelong member of the Church of God in Cleveland, Tennessee. She accepted Jesus Christ into her heart at the young age of seven and found great peace in serving the Lord. Jan graduated from Lee University and went on to have a successful career as the Office Manager and Residency Coordinator for Vascular Surgery at The Ohio State University Medical School. She was known for her dedication, professionalism, and warm spirit in the workplace. Jan had a love for music. She was gifted and enjoyed singing and playing the piano and organ. She also loved to cook and travel.

Jan's faith and generosity touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Robert Combs; her son, Rob (Gisela); her beloved grandchildren, Brissa and Liam; and her siblings, Judy, Sam, and Jimmie. 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following at 12:00 PM. Services will take place at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation in Goose Creek, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Tabernacle Outreach Ministry, Midlothian, Virginia.
