Janet Polk, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025, at the age of 75 in Jackson, TN. She was born on November 5, 1949, to Winifred and Ralph Kendall.
Janet was known for her sharp wit, great sense of humor, and her love of life. She found joy in gardening, exploring the beauty of nature, reading, and expressing herself through art. A lover of Old Rag Mountain and the rivers of Virginia, she cherished time spent in the outdoors. Her home was often scented with patchouli, reflecting her free spirit and love for the natural world.
She was an animal lover and admired the beauty of life around her. Janet's warmth, humor, and compassion touched everyone she met.
While Janet's world was undoubtedly brighter with her husband, Timothy Polk, who passed in 2017, she continued to carry his memory in her heart. Their love was a guiding light, instilling within her the strength to face life's challenges and the warmth to embrace those she loved.
She is survived by her daughter Sarah Holny, sons Jeremy Davies and Travis Cole, and her five grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings Robert, Richard, and Joanne Kendall, who will cherish her memory always.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
In remembrance of Janet, let us celebrate her life—a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world around her. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten, as her spirit continues to blossom in the lives she touched.
