Janet "Jan" Beth (Compton) Sanders, beloved daughter, wife, mom, and friend, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, just days shy of her 62nd birthday. Born on July 19, 1963, Jan spent over 40 years in Big Spring, where she became a cherished member of the community and an unwavering advocate for those in need.
In 1999, Jan married Jim Sanders. Together, they cultivated a life filled with love and compassion, a legacy that Jan continued to uphold. Known for her kind and giving heart, she dedicated countless hours to community service, working with the American Legion and engaging in charity work. Jan was also a devoted caretaker for the disabled, always willing to lend a helping hand.
In her spare time, Jan found joy in the simple pleasures of life: solving puzzles, coloring, dancing and watching her favorite court shows. She cherished her family deeply. She loved spending time with her girls and grandchildren. Her pets, Little Bit and Reno, also brought her immense joy.
She is survived by her daughters, Kala Mann & Tanya McDaniel; father, Jimmy Compton; sisters, Terri (Bobby) Pearson & Tracy (Miki) Klempa; brother, Jerry Mann II; grandchildren: Jacob, Ryan, Kyle, Mason & Taigen; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Sanders; mother, Marsha Compton Mann; brother, Wade Compton; and bonus dad, Jerry Mann, Sr.
Jan's spirit will be celebrated in a memorial service at 4 PM, Saturday, July 19, 2025 at Myers & Smith Funeral Home Chapel, where family and friends will gather to honor her remarkable life and the indelible mark, she left on all who knew her.
