Life's Road Trip
Our beloved Janette (Janice) Reed O'Neal entered into God's Rest with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the young age of 58. She was born to the late A.C. Reed and Emma Jean Smith-Reed in Altheimer, Arkansas on February 26, 1967.
Janette, affectionately known as Janice or Jay, attended Stuttgart Public Schools. After graduating high school in 1985, she enrolled in the Little Rock Job Corps earning her secretarial certification with an emphasis in shorthand writing. While there, she was blessed with the opportunity to work for the recently revived Arkansas State Press and its' editor, the late Daisy Bates. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant, working at the local hospital and nursing homes for nine years, until certain health challenges limited her ability to work.
Janette accepted Christ at an early age and served at Mt. Calvary C.O.G.I.C., under the guidance of the late Elder Clarence C. Guydon. In 2001, she rededicated her life to Christ at Anointed House of Prayer (now known as Victors' Empowerment Center), under the leadership of Apostle Victor E. Johnson. In 2003, she became a founding member of Bible Believers' House of Faith, where she was licensed as a deaconess and served in that role for seventeen years. In 2020, Janette joined Celebration Church, led by Pastor Jimmy Stewart, where she received her ordination as a Minister of the Gospel. In 2022, she joined Calvary Pentecostal Church, under the leadership of Pastor Israel Davis, serving as both a Minister and church secretary until her untimely passing.
On September 14, 1996, Janette married Cecil Ray O'Neal, sharing with him her life, her sons, her faith, and her family. She enjoyed eating out (Chinese food), shopping (thrifting), traveling, and visiting friends and family. Janette had a love/hate relationship with all those whom she loved most.
Janette was preceded in death by her parents A.C. and Emma J. Reed; three brothers: Clifton Reed, Ray Smith, and Leotis Reed; and three sisters: Mary Reed, Sheilo Reed, and Patricia Reed.
Janette leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of twenty-nine years, Cecil O'Neal of Stuttgart, AR; one sister-in-love Gwen Fuller and one brother-in-love Tokyo O'Neal, Jr., both of Hot Springs, AR; two sons James (Kila) Junior Il of Hot Springs, AR and Tylenn (Kandis) Todd of Forrest City, AR; four grandchildren: Amere Berry and Antwon Berry of Hot Springs, AR, Kamari Perry and Kylan Peters of Forrest City, AR; three sisters Lenora Turner of El Paso, TX, Janice (Virl) McGaughy of Phoenix, AZ, and Terry (Earl) Howard of Stuttgart, AR; five brothers Milton Curtis Jones, Sr. of Wabbaseka, AR, Wilbur (Laura) Reed, Sr. of Wichita, KS, Alvin (Tara) Reed of Little Rock, AR, Paul (Mae) Reed, Sr. and Steven (Surrenda) Reed, both of Stuttgart, AR; one uncle Clinton (Margaret) Smith of White Hall, AR; one godson/nephew Keundra (DaMyya) Reed of Stuttgart, AR; one special niece Ny'Toria Reed of Maumelle, AR; three special friends Denise Cline of Stuttgart, AR, Phyllis Lee of Conway, AR, and Sherri (David) Steverson of Stuttgart, AR; and a whole host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will truly miss her.

My heart was so saddened to hear of my cousins passings. She was a very loving person and had a great comical sense of humor. I´m really gonna miss her presence. Family God doesn´t make mistakes. We all loved her, but God loved her best.
