Janice Lynn Cole was born to Billy Bob and Constance Mae “Connie” (Hampton) Henning on May 25, 1952 in Edmond, OK and departed this life in Randlett, OK on October 11, 2024 at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 16 days.

Janice grew up in Oklahoma, Texas and a time in New Mexico before the family settled in Waurika, OK when she was a teenager. She graduated from Waurika High School in 1970. She married Glendel Laroy Cole on December 4, 1972 in Waurika and to the union a son, Cory, was born. They made their home in Grapevine, Texas for a few months while Glendel helped his dad out and then returned to Temple. In 1973 they went out on their own with Cole’s Green House and made a great team during the company’s 40-year run. Around 2013 she went to work at Smith's Gardentown in Wichita Falls, retiring in 2018.

Janice was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Cookietown. She enjoyed traveling, seeing family, and trips to New Mexico. She loved spending time at her mom’s place at Waurika Lake and boating, and enjoyed the casino life. She was a fan of OU Athletics, the Waurika Eagles and the Temple Tigers. She enjoyed school reunions and seeing her classmates. She was an active supporter of her town and its school by serving on the Temple City Council, Chamber of Commerce and served on the Temple School Board. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Bob Henning and Connie Henning Garvin; and 2 brothers, Mike Henning and John Henning.

Survivors include her husband, Glendel Cole of the home; her son, Cory Cole of Temple; her granddaughter, Laura Kalee Cole of Temple; her sister, Pam Thompson of the Waurika Lake; 3 brothers, Danny Henning and Marlin of Franklin, TN, Scott Henning of Temple, OK and David Garvin of Prairie Grove, AR; her sisters-in-law, Johnette Spurlock and Robbie, Terri Abbe and Roger; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
