In Loving Memory of
Janice "Sue" Goss
September 13, 1943 – August 5, 2025 Janice "Sue" Goss, 81, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025, surrounded by family. Born in Eureka, Kansas, on September 13, 1943, to Bert and Edna Kester, Sue grew up with strong family ties and a love for small-town life. She called Toronto, Kansas, her home for most of her years, and the people there - family, friends, and neighbors - were an important part of her heart. Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Leon Goss; her siblings, Steven "Pood" Kester and Darlene "Sis" Hamilton; stepdaughter Cindy Kelly and her husband, Wayne; and her beloved granddaughter, Amanda Clemence. She was the devoted mother of Brad Rogers of Sedgwick, KS; Chris Rogers, wife Laura of Sedgwick, KS; and Stephanie Gaul of Colwich, KS. Sue was also a loving "bonus mother" to Charlie's daughters - Cindy Kelly (deceased) and husband Wayne (deceased), Cathy Clemence and husband Mark of Wichita, KS, and Connie Gress and husband Joel of Wichita, KS. Together, Sue and Charlie were blessed with 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, each one a source of joy and pride. Sue found joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life: spending time with children and grandchildren, laughing with friends, caring for her pets, and working on her crafts and woodworking projects. She loved Toronto deeply and always considered it her true home, even when life took her elsewhere in later years. Her kindness, humor, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be remembered and cherished forever. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Quincy Cemetery, near Quincy, KS where Sue will be laid to rest beside Charlie, her parents, and her grandparents. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sue Goss to the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219, an organization close to her heart, supporting the care and protection of animals she loved so dearly.
