My family met Janice and Ron sitting at a nearby table at Godfather's Pizza. They were easy to get to know; Warm, receiving, and friendly. From that moment, we stayed in touch. We'd easily share a laugh together. Annually, as July 4 would near, I could always expect a phone call from Janice inviting us to watch fireworks with her. What a generous invitation! We felt honored and special. Although our kids enjoyed the special spot to view the fireworks, I think she and I talked more than watched! God Bless you Janice! Enjoy your new view of the fireworks!

Janice and I knew each other most of our lives, going to the same school and then of course, I eventually married her brother, Bob. Our lives diverged at that time, as she and her husband, Marlyn remained farming in the Bode area and Bob and I lived in a variety of distant places during the Navy and Bob's veterinary practice but we always stayed in touch, and after our husbands died we maintained a warm relationship through letters and occasional visits.
I think anyone that knew her was aware of the variety of skills she had and her pleasure in the creations from quilting to a wide variety of handwork. I was always amazed that she could crochet or knit while on a long drive. And everyone knew of her adventurous spirit!
She kept me in touch with people we had known long ago, and the years of devotion she had for St. Olaf's church and its history. She led a long , busy life with many interests and experiences and I will miss the conversations and remembrances we shared.
May she rest in peace and in God's love. Marge Olson (Olson)
