Janice Poston Obituary
Janice Faye Poston, 84, of Owensville, IN was called home to the Lord Friday, June 20, 2025 at Good Samaritan Home Nursing Home in Oakland City, IN. She was born August 19, 1940 in Mt. Carmel, IL to the late Paul and Myrtle (Harper) Garrett. Janice graduated from Owensville High School in 1958 and then from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1961. She worked as a RN for many years. Janice was a member of First Christian Church in Owensville, IN. She enjoyed watching any and all sporting events and working cross stitch. Janice liked traveling with friends whenever she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Paul Garrett.
Janice is survived by her son, John (Sheila) Poston; grandchildren, Sonya (Grant) Byrns, Joshua Poston, and Alyssa Poston; great-grandchildren, Mason and Gannon Byrns; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Garrett.
A funeral service will be held 10 A.M. Friday, June 27, 2025 at Colvin Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Akins officiating and burial to follow at Owensville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the funeral home.
