Janice Salmon Obituary

Janice June Salmon, 88, of Richland Center died on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Soldiers Grove Health Care. She was born on June 22, 1937 in Richland County the daughter of Glen and Dorothy (Jones) Harwood. Janice attended the Oxford Grade School for 8 years and graduated from Richland Center High School in 1955. She married Lyle Salmon on June 15, 1957, and the couple farmed for 17 years with her main job was milking the cows. Janice later went to work at O'Bryan Brothers for over 25 years as an inspector. After Janice retired, she worked at the Richland Center Shopping News and the Family Dollar Store. She went to many country music concerts and dances. She enjoyed sewing, playing cards, watching the Brewers, the Packers, and the Bucks. She loved being a mom and spending time with her family, taking her kids to their extracurricular events from playing baseball to the Hilltoppers Color Guard. Janice spent many hours talking on the phone with her siblings.

Richard Salmon of Soldiers Grove,
Sue Salmon of Readstown,
Timothy (Marcy) Salmon of Wilton;
Four grandchildren: Sheldon Salmon, Paige (Jay) Holasek, Will Salmon, and KayeLee (Cody) Napp;
Four great-grandchildren;
Sister: Dot Pinkham of Richland Center;
Many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Becky Salmon, and ten brothers and sisters; Forest, Frank, Luren, Phyllis, Orland 'Shorty', Darwin, Delight, and Mike.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel at 12:00 PM with burial to follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
