Janice Selman Obituary
Born and raised in South Boston, she was an award-winning fine artist with work held in permanent collections worldwide. She studied at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and spent most of her life in Falmouth, surrounded by family and the coastal beauty that inspired her.
She is survived by her daughters, Jodie (Selman) Longton and her partner Oleg Pokotilov of Seekonk, and Stacey (Selman) Bean and her husband Kevin Bean of Bridgewater; grandchildren Gabrielle Roppolo of Arlington, Isabella Longton and her fiancé Angel Ocasio of Norton, Carly Kean and her fiancé Zachary Jones, Paul Kean, Autumn Spillane, Andy Bean, and Katie Bean; and great-grandsons Jaxon O'Neil and Mateo Ocasio. She was predeceased by her grandson Jeffrey Bean.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 17, from 9 - 10:30 a.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 475 Main St., Falmouth. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 68 Main St., Falmouth with a luncheon in the Church Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local arts organization in her memory.
