Japohni Grace Gibson, 64, a lifelong resident of Rockdale, Texas, passed away on June 25, 2025, to be with her personal Lord and Savior. Grace cultivated a deep and enduring relationship with her Lord from a very early age. She was a devoted member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Cameron and never missed a service.
Grace found joy in the simple things-Bingo, gardening, arts and crafts-and especially treasured spending time with her great-nephew, affectionately known as "L to the J." Her warmth, creativity, and deep faith were gifts she shared freely with those around her.
Her Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at 10:00am at Lilac Cemetery near Sharp, Texas. with officiating Brother Johnson;
Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale will be handling the service.
Grace was born on February 14, 1961, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Greer and Alice Wilson Gibson. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers William Gibson and sister Judith Mayfield; brother-in-law Roy Mayfield Sr.; sisters-in-law Bobbie Russio and Shelia Gibson; great-niece Rayleigh Mayfield; and great-nephew Jimmy Mayfield.
She is survived by her sister, Clemmie Bratcher and husband Bruce; brother Daniel Gibson; brother Orie Ray Gibson; Sister In-law Tammie Gibson. She also leaves behind her special niece, Tommye Mayfield, whom she lovingly raised; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Grace's legacy of faith, family, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
