Jason Eugene Watts, known to his family and friends as "Jake", passed away on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, at the age of 50. Jason was born on October 1st, 1974, and was the son of Leon and Bettye Shotwell Watts.

Jake had a spirit that was equally adventurous as it was compassionate. A lover of the outdoors, he found peace and joy in canoeing. His love for music and art was another testament to his creative spirit and he was an accomplished guitarist who cherished playing music. When he wasn't engaged in his work or hobbies, Jake could often be found at the sawmill.

Devoted to his family and friends, Jake's life was a testimony to love and loyalty. He leaves behind a community woven together by his kindness, humor, and indomitable spirit. His absence creates an immeasurable void, yet his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He is survived by his parents, Leon & Bettye; son, Connor Jacob Watts; daughter, Julia Epperly and Justin Hatcher; granddaughter, EmmyLou Hatcher; brother, David Watts & wife, Christy; nephews, Hunter Watts and Michael Watts & wife, Kristen and their daughter, Lakelynn; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Shotwell and many other family members and friends.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the Link Family Cemetery in Alton, VA with Reverend Larry Davis officiating.

Jason Eugene Watts touched so many lives with his warmth, creativity, and kindness. While he has departed from this world, his spirit will forever remain, echoing within the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know and love him.
