MR. JAY HARRY EVANS, age 49, of Milan, GA, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2025, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Milan Baptist Church with Rev. Aubrey Corbitt, Mr. Allen Brown and Mr. Tony Taylor officiating with interment in Milan City Cemetery.
Jay was born in Eastman, GA on December 26, 1975, and was a member Milan Baptist Church. He was a lifelong resident of Dodge County and a graduate of Dodge County High School. He worked for several years at Wholesale Paint in Rhine, GA in the 1990s. Jay was a beloved son and brother who dearly loved his family, and they were inseparable, spending all their time together through the years. He loved watching Gunsmoke and western shows on TV and enjoyed listening to Country music. Jay was a special part of the Evans family and will be forever missed. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shelley Kristy Evans, paternal grandparents, Jeanette Weaver Evans and Harry Moses Evans, and Maternal Grandparents, Hazel Ruby Jones, Harry Floyd Taylor, and Helen Smith Taylor.
He is survived by his Parents – Harriett Taylor Evans and Robert Wayne Evans of Milan, GA; Brother – Dawson Evans of Milan, GA; Aunts and Uncles – Debbie Taylor Wynn (Stephen) of Eastman, GA, Laura Taylor Smith (Stanley) of Milan, GA, and Dianne Evans Waits (Merrill) of Georgetown, SC; Special Grandma - Audrey Beasley of Milan, Ga; Several Great Aunts and Uncles and Numerous Cousins.
The family may be contacted at the Evans residence, 11 Kendall Street, Milan, GA 31060 and will receive friends in Milan Baptist Church from 10AM-11AM before the service on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Milan Baptist Church Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 157, Milan, GA 31060 and Gideons International Bible Fund.
