Jay Harvey Turley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully, due to natural causes, on June 23, 2025, at the age of 95. Born January 3, 1930 in Joseph City, Arizona, Jay lived a life dedicated to family and service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Turley, and 7 children, 18 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his oldest son, Jay Harvey Turley Jr.
Jay was a celebrated member of the community, having served as the Navajo County Recorder for 31 years. He had an unrivaled passion for the Boy Scouts Of America, with a 77-year continuous membership. A proud veteran, Jay served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. His legacy of dedication to family and county will forever resonate with those who knew him.
Funeral services for Jay will be held on July 11 th , 2025. There will be a public viewing at the Holbrook LDS Chapel beginning at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM. The graveside service will be at Joseph City Cemetery at 12:00 PM. Please join us in celebrating his wonderful life.
