Alma Jean Scroggins Green was born June 14, 1930, in Rossville, Georgia to Perry Scroggins and Mary Frances Smith Scroggins Jones. Jean went to be with the lord on July 18, 2025, in St. Thomas Ascension Hospital, Murfreesboro, TN, Surrounded by her family at the age of 95.

Jean was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother, Frank (Sonny) Qualls; her sister, Florence Farrar; and her stepson, Tim Green.

Jean is survived by her loving husband of almost 60 years, James Green, with whom she created their family that meant the world to her:

Greg Green (Mary)

Grandson: Dr. Shawn Goodwin (Lesther Chavarria)

Granddaughters: Beth Goodwin Boling (Glenn)

Devin Green Marsh (Jericho)

Jordan Green Pearson (Rhett)

Ryan Green (Lane Miller)

Great – Granddaughter: Taylor Boling

Great – Grandson: Jackson Boling (Presleah Meadows)

Isaiah Marsh

Evren Marsh

Nephews: David Qualls (Trish)

Kenny Floyd

Jean Worked for 25 years at PCA in Manchester and over 20 years at the Coffee County Sheriff's Department. Her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and dogs were her true joy. Her loving ways touched those who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to the family. She was one of my patients at the eye clinic where she received her treatments. She was a sweet and charming lady who I looked forward to seeing when she came in. I will miss her charm and will pray for her that she is at rest.
