Jean Sellers Obituary

Priscilla Jean Sellers, of Atlanta, TX, passed away on July 30 at her home surrounded by family.

She is survived by her children Camilla Sellers of Atlanta, Becky Shultz of Atlanta, Ray Sellers and wife, Karen, of Atlanta and Deborah Lawrence and husband, Larry, of Queen City and one brother, Jimmy Neal of Cleburne, TX. She is survived by four grandchildren, Janie Sellers Hoskins and husband, Aaron, of Fort Worth, TX, Jason Shultz and fiancé Tere Martinez of Houston, TX, and Heather Lawrence Shellgrove and husband, Gabe, of Kildare, TX, and Eric Sellers and wife, Angela, of Conway, AR. She is also survived by his 6 great-grandchildren, Caden, Brynna & Sophie Hoskins and Benjamin, Bridget, and Felicity Sellers.

She is preceded in death by both his parents, her husband Bobby Sellers, grandson Larry E. Lawrence, along with two sisters, Peggy West and Irene Coles.

She was born on August 18, 1938, to Thomas and Lizzie Neal of Lonsdale, AR, whom she lovingly cared for until each of their passing. She was the third of four children and often told stories of walking a dirt road to catch the bus to school.

She met her husband, Bobby while he was in college and was married to him while he was on military leave on August 18, 1954, her birthday. Shortly after, couple began a family having all four of their children in five years, something Jean felt somewhat proud of.

Jean spent many years working as a seamstress for Guardline, Henson Kickrnick and privately for others. She enjoyed sewing "fancy things" like wedding or prom dresses. She proudly created her son, Ray's baby blue leisure suit for prom, created many Easter dresses, altered color guard uniforms and even created bridesmaids' dresses for her granddaughter, Janie's, wedding.

She loved her garden, although maybe not the wildflowers, and enjoyed the produce it provided. She also loved watching the hummingbirds on her porch and later from her window. She enjoyed the Readers Digest and constructing puzzles with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. But most of all, she enjoyed being a homemaker, a mother, a grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family deeply and was most proud of them.

Jean loved the Lord and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Queen City where she faithfully attended for decades.

As one of her favorite songs says, "He walks with me, and he talks with me, and he tells me I am his own. And the joy we share as we tarry there, none other has ever know." Jean is now walking and talking and experiencing this joy with Jesus, but she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 1, 2025, from 2 pm to 3 pm at Hanner Funeral Service, with funeral services at 3 pm Friday, August 1, 2025, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel.

Interment will be in Beech Creek Cemetery.
