Mrs. Jean Carol Smith Rawlins, age 74, of Broxton, Georgia, passed away Saturday morning, July 19, 2025 at Hospice Satilla in Waycross, Georgia following an extended illness.
Mrs. Rawlins was born February 17, 1951 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late J. D. Smith and the late Vera Smith. She was a retired Emergency Room Charge Nurse at Coffee Regional Medical Center. She loved the outdoors and as long as her health permitted she could be found hunting and fishing as well as tending her flowers in her yard. She also enjoyed shopping and most of all, spending time with her grandbabies. She was an active member of Rocky Creek Church.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Rawlins was preceded in death by loving husband, Joel "Joe" Thomas Rawlins, 2 sons: Clay Rawlins and Nichael Rawlins, and a daughter-in-law, Sheri Rawlins.
Mrs. Rawlins is survived by her son, Mike Rawlins of Broxton, Georgia; 7 grandchildren: Meagan Deaton (Jamey) of El Paso, Texas, Nick Rawlins (Briley) of Douglas, Georgia, Katlyn Rawlins of Broxton, Georgia, Caroline Rawlins (Hunter) of Baxley, Georgia, Conner Rawlins of Lake City, Florida, J. D. Rawlins of Douglas, Georgia, Bo Rawlins of Douglas, Georgia; 13 great grandchildren; and a number of extended family members.
Mrs. Rawlins' family will receive friends on Friday, July 25, 2025 from Noon – 1:00 PM at Rocky Creek Church. At 1:00 PM a graveside funeral service and interment will be held in the Rocky Creek Cemetery with Rev. Beth King officiating and music provided by the Peacock Family.
Active pallbearers will include: Stacey Adams, Elec Morrison, Johnny Morrison, Kipp Jewell, Thomas Treat, Nick Rawlins, Jamar Brinkley, and Dalton Cato.
