Jeffrey Scott Vande Kamp was born on September 15, 1953 to Jim and Charlotte Vande Kamp in Albert Lea, MN. Jeff graduated from Albert Lea High School in June of 1972. After High School, Jeff enlisted in the Army for five years. He was stationed in Germany and Korea.
He met Virginia Cox, and married her on September 24, 1977. Jeff had many jobs, including working at Bridon Cordage, an owner-operator RPS trucking, and helping out the local farmers. He was also a volunteer firefighter with the Hollandale Fire Department. He could be seen helping out the Van Erkel farms with the yearly harvest. He was also involved in a toy tractor business.
Jeff was a big NASCAR fan. Jeff Gordon and Chase Elliot were his favorite drivers. He also enjoyed watching the Vikings play football. When he wasn’t watching sports, he would be out fishing with his cousins, and playing poker and cribbage as well. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.
Jeff is survived by his wife Virginia and his children Josh and Heather. Grandchildren Peyton, Myka, Lincoln, and Astrid. Sister Polly (Paul) Hillman; brothers Tim (Kristie), Marty (Julie); brother-in-law Phil Best; many aunts and uncles, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Charlotte; sisters Kris (Roger) Thompson, Kathy (Bubs) Best; in-laws Leonard and Audrey Cox; and brother-in-law Don Cox.
The family would like to give special thanks to the team at St. Croix Hospice for their loving care they provided Jeff.
