Jeffrey Miller Obituary

On June 6, 2025, Jeffrey Alan Miller ("Jeff") Miller passed away at the age of 62 at his

home in Peekskill, NY.

Jeff was raised in Orange County California. He was an avid international traveler who spent time in Belgium, Germany and his beloved France. Jeff ultimately transplanted

himself to New York where he held jobs in a variety of fields from information technology to internal communications to business transformation at Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill ("CHHOP") where he worked at the time of his death.

Jeff was a singularly accomplished individual; he was fluent in several languages, including French and German, held a BA in Communications from California State University Long Beach ,an MA in journalism, Radio, TV and English, and an MBA (with a 4.0 GPA) from Iona University. Jeff never met a problem he wasn't interested in

solving. Jeff was known to his devoted friends as part Martha Stewart, part weather announcer,part Parisian, part technology genius, part music aficionado, and one of the kindest, most gentle human beings. Jeff was devoted to his family, telephoning his sister daily and his mother weekly despite their geographic distance.

Jeff was an accomplished chef known for his gourmet salads sprinkled with edible flowers, Duck L'orange, and escargot. Jeff designed his house in Peekskill adding his

personal of his garage so it would appear that the fish were frolicking in the ocean during a Rainstorm. Jeff's sanctuary was his home garden where he spent hours creating unparalleled beauty.

Jeff was integral in transforming the social services organization Caring for the Hungry and Homeless of Peekskill ("CHHOP") into a highly respected organization focusing on equity for the most vulnerable. Jeff's skills and talents in the workplace were many. Jeff 's responsibilities included IT, social media, data management, and event planning and logistics. Jeff handled the numerous emergencies inherent in his work, from IT crises to burst building pipes, to working on tight deadlines with CHHOP's architect on building renovations, all with aplomb. Jeff was a "thought leader" at CHHOP whose

absence will be keenly felt every day.

Jeff is survived by his mother Marianne Miller, his sister Lori Miller, his niece Brenda Miller and her husband Dave Koos, and his nephew Jeffrey and his spouse.

Jeff's father, Ray Miller, predeceased him.
