Jeffrey Smith Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Benson Funeral Home - Dallas on Nov. 10, 2025.
Jeffrey Evans Smith, lovingly known by those closest to him as Babe, Dada, and Guncie, passed away in Hiram, Georgia, at the age of 42. Born on November 23, 1982, in Austell, Georgia, Jeffrey lived a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family.
Jeffrey loved his family more than anything in the world. He was a devoted husband to Jessica Nicole Smith and a proud, loving father to his daughter Madison Lou Smith, who was his greatest joy. He is now reunited in heaven with his beloved son Wyatt Evans Smith, his parents Evans Howard Smith and Senia Diane Smith, and his grandparents who went before him.
Jeffrey had a heart of gold and a gift for making everyone feel welcome-he truly never met a stranger. His passion for hunting and the outdoors reflected his appreciation for life's simple, peaceful moments. Whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or lighting up a room with his smile, Jeffrey made a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is also survived by his brother, Stephen Howard Smith and sister-in-law Kimberly Smith; nephews Jacob and Nathan Smith; sister, Lisa Shead and her husband Carey Shead; nephews, Tony Edge and Shawn Edge.
Jeffrey is also survived by his mother-in-law, Kimberly Bodenhamer and stepfather-in-law, Doug Bodenhamer; father-in-law, Roger Jones and stepmother-in-law, Rachel Jones; brother-in-law, Hayden Jones; sister-in-law, Alyssa Tyler; brother-in-law, Nic Tyler; and nephews, Bryceson Tyler and Kayson Tyler.
Each of them will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
Jeffrey's love, laughter, and kindness will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His spirit will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
Go Dawgs!
