Jerrid Shane Glidewell, 54, of Milan Missouri passed away on January 14, 2025 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona surrounded by his loving family.Jerrid was born in
Milan, Missouri on November 29, 1970 to Stan and Cheryl (Swank) Glidewell.
The eldest of three brothers, Jerrid grew up a simple man with a deep sense of family and responsibility, traits he carried throughout his life. Born and raised in rural
Milan, Missouri, Jerrid spent his life deeply connected to his roots. During his childhood, he enjoyed spending time with his brothers and cousins. You could often find him coon hunting with his Papa Eldon, riding 3-wheelers, fishing, and being outdoors. He graduated from Milan High School and went on to attend college in Warrensburg, Missouri. Jerrid lived in Milan while raising his children, creating a home filled with love and laughter.
Jerrid had a passion for sports, with football holding a special place in his heart. A lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and the Missouri Tigers, he could often be found cheering them on with boundless enthusiasm.
In addition to his love for sports, Jerrid cherished spending his time golfing, backroading and listening to hard rock. He found particular joy fishing and camping at his parents' pond where many memories were made.
Professionally, Jerrid worked in construction before working in maintenance at Smithfield Foods and Simmons for many years. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.
Jerrid was also known for his humorous personality, which endeared him to many. He had a wide circle of friends in the community, which he cared deeply about.
Above all, Jerrid found his greatest happiness in being a devoted father to his two beloved daughters, Rhiannon and Regan. When spending time together, they often enjoyed going to the movies, taking Jeep rides, golfing, attending Milan Wildcat football games and cheering on his girls when they played sports for the Green City Gophers. Later on, Jerrid enjoyed visiting Lake Havasu City, AZ where his daughters resided. Whether sharing laughter, imparting wisdom, or simply being present, Jerrid's love for his girls was evident in everything he did. His family meant the world to him, and his legacy will live on through the countless memories they created together.
Jerrid is survived by his two daughters, Rhiannon Glidewell of Salt Lake CIty, UT, and Regan Glidewell of Lake Havasu City, AZ; father, Stan Glidewell; brothers, Brandon Glidewell and Jody (Jennifer) Glidewell, niece Macie Glidewell; nephews, Marcus Glidwell and Troy Aldridge, all of Milan MO; Aunts and Uncles, Rhonda and Brad Carter of Lake Ozark, MO; Steve and Shelley Swank, of
Milan, MO; Oren and Linda Glidewell of Kansas City, MO, Jennie and Larry Marks, of Smithville, MO, and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Cheryl (Swank) Glidewell; paternal grandparents, James Paul and Rita Glidewell; maternal grandparents; Eldon and Shirley Swank; aunts, Julie Nickell, Cathy Adtkins; uncle Dave Adkins and cousins.
Jerrid's kindness, humor, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves behind a family and a community who are better for having known his kindness and love.
Jerrid's wishes were for cremation and a "Celebration of Life" with Inurnment of his remains at Shatto Cemetery in
Milan, Missouri which will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made in Jerrid's memory via VENMO @Jglide70
