Jerry Gray Obituary

Jerry Jay Gray, 59, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away on February 5th, 2025.
Jerry was born June 23rd, 1965, in Oberlin, OH to Lynn Larry Gray and Rosemary (Burke) (Gray) Hardy. Jerry was the middle child of 5-survived by his brothersLynn (Betsy) Gray and Garry (Amanda) Gray, and sisters Rosanne (Tom) Storrow and Julianne (Tony) Vestal. He is also survived by Samuel (Rosemary) Hardy, lovingly known as "Pop Sam".
Jerry graduated from Wellington High School in 1983. Jerry had worked in a variety of roles in his lifetime but predominantly remained in public service for most of his career, including many years serving his community as a volunteer firefighter and as an emergency dispatcher, a role he had assumed in more than one county throughout his work life.
Jerry started his family in Indiana in 1992 and was a father of 3- survived by his daughters Alexis (Abel) Torres and Michaela (Nathan) Gray, and his son Benjamin (Caylei) Gray. Jerry was a proud and loving Papa to 10 grandchildren: Braelynn, Felicity, Oliver, Iyden, Lucas, Caroline, Lucy, Natalie, Kallen, and Elijah.
Jerry also held great love for his many nieces and nephews, including his nephew Travis Aviles who preceded him in death.
Jerry especially enjoyed the outdoors and camping and had even journeyed to Canada by kayak while on his adventures. His love of the outdoors was a passion he loved to share with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Jerry spent much of his free time diligently attending sporting and school events as each of their #1 fan.
Jerry was an absolute pillar in the lives of his family and will be deeply and sorely missed by those who love him.
Visitation for family and close friends will be held from 10am-12pm on Tuesday February 11, 2025, at the Palmer Funeral Home-North Liberty Chapel, 202 N. Main St. North Liberty.
