DARNELL, LA - Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Jordan, Sr., age 73 of Darnell, Louisiana will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 200 East Noble Street in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Reverend Jay Morgan will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Jordan Family Cemetery, 5057 Highway 577 East of Darnell in the Floyd Community.

Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Cox Funeral Home, 200 East Noble Street in Oak Grove.

Jerry Jordan, Sr. passed away at his home on July 9, 2025. He was born on November 5, 1951, in Monroe, Louisiana, to Albert and Frances Jordan. On August 29, 1969, Jerry married the love of his life, Emma Jordan, and together they shared 55 wonderful years. They were blessed with three beautiful children. Jerry was a proud and dedicated member of the Pipeliners Local Union 798, where he worked faithfully for 45 years.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Emma Jordan of Darnell, Louisiana; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Jordan, Jr. and Lori of Longview, Texas; daughter, Jamie Jordan of Darnell; 9 grandchildren: Ashley Jordan, Alisha Bird, Doug Robinson, Kara Hutson, Stephen E. Hicks, Stephan W. Jordan, Andrew Jordan, Megan Donohue, and Jordan Donohue; 18 great grandchildren; countless nieces & nephews; sister, Betty Dye of Oak Grove, Louisiana; and sister, Linda Gail of Branson, Missouri.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Albert and Frances Jordan; son, Tony Lee Jordan; great granddaughter, Paislee Faith; and many brothers and sisters.

Jerry Wayne Jordan, Sr., was known and loved as a devoted friend, husband, brother, father, Pawpaw, uncle, and all-around remarkable man. To know Jerry was to truly love him - his friendliness, his generosity, and his steady presence touched the lives of everyone he encountered. He had a heart for the people close to him and was always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the circumstance. Whether it was offering support, sharing wisdom, or simply showing up when someone needed him most, Jerry gave of himself freely and without hesitation. His kindness knew no limits, and his selfless spirit will remain and enduring example for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Pallbearers are: Hank Prine, Buddy Cooper, Chris Kirkland, Steve Smith, Ricky Fuller, and Lewis Chapman.
