Jerry Kelley Obituary

Jerry Lee Kelley Jr., 54, of Bartlesville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
Jerry was born September 11, 1970, in Bartlesville, to Jerry Lee Kelley Sr. and Frances Joy (Plisek) Kelley. Jerry is a 1988 graduate of Dewey High School and Tri County Technology Center in the construction technology program. Right out of high school, he became an electrician apprentice until eventually becoming self-employed as an electrical contractor.
Jerry married the love of his life, Kristin Dawn Chandler, on November 23, 1991. They shared 33 years of loving marriage and to this union one daughter was born, Kaylee.
Jerry was civic minded and served his community in various ways throughout his life. He was captain of the Bartlesville Police Reserves and served as post advisor of the Explorer Program for more than 16 years, finishing his service there in 2018. He was Reserve Officer of the Year in 2005 and 2016. He also started out volunteering as a firefighter and eventually gained employment with the Washington County Emergency Management. He was titled as a "Specialist" and that title had many facets. He was a communications unit leader, statewide instructor, information technology specialist, global information systems, grant administrator, CERT instructor and certified weather radar operator. He touched many lives through training classes and emergency responses, not only in Oklahoma, but also in FEMA deployments to Louisiana and Florida. Jerry also served as an adjunct instructor with Oklahoma State University. The Bartlesville community lost a faithful servant.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and camping.
The most important thing in Jerry's life was his family. He adored his daughter Kaylee and was a wonderful husband and father.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Kristin Kelley; daughter, Kaylee Kelley; siblings, Robert Kelley and wife Kristina, Michael Kelley and wife Jane, Lisa Frye and husband Matthew, and Mathew Kelley; and a host of other family members and friends.
Jerry's family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel, 113 S. Osage Ave., Dewey, OK 74029, 918-534-3030. Come and go visitation will also be held from 10-8 Thursday.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Dewey Cemetery with Pastor Chuck Kerns officiating. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and Davis Family Funeral Home – Dewey Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
