Jerry Wayne Mathis, 65
Jerry Wayne Mathis died January 21, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1960 in Belle Glade, Florida. A resident of Okeechobee for four years, he was a race car driver, and he enjoyed putting model cars together, and being with friends and family. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. He loved his kitty, Moby.
Mr. Mathis was preceded in death by his father, Milford Mathis.
He is survived by his mother, Harriet Mathis, of Okeechobee, Florida; sister, Jimmie Lynn Lee (Sandy), of Fort White, Florida; cousin, Mike Galassini, of Clewiston, Florida; niece, Crystal Benedetti (Eric Edwards), of Okeechobee, Florida; great nephew, Taylor Edwards; nephew Lloyd Pender (Tanya), of West Palm Beach, Florida, Matt Lee (Ilena) and Shane Lee; great niece, Reese Pender, Charlee, Emma, Jo; great nephew, Ryan Pender; cousin, Jeff Mathis, of Virginia; aunt, Sue Turner, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; best friends, Judy Throop, of Okeechobee, Florida, Billy George, of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Kris Benson, of Orlando, Florida; and too many friends to name them all.
