Jerry Lee Mossburg
1955 - 2025
Our father, Jerry Mossburg was unexpectedly taken to heaven on Sat. July 13th about 2am. Jerry was born to Mary (Stoner) and Bill Mossburg on August 25th 1955, who preceded him in death in 2010 and 2016. He was a wonderful big brother and is survived by all three of his younger siblings. Pat (Delilah) Mossburg of Blythedale, MO., Billie (Kelly) Smith of Kellerton, IA, and Sam (Stephanie) Mossburg of Elkart, TX. He was also a wonderful uncle and great uncle and will be missed by all his nieces and nephews, many of which a had a special bond with.
After our father graduated from Eagleville High School and North Central Career Center in 1973, he married Cheryl Parkhurst (Porter) in 1976 and had 2 children, Jennifer and David. He lived in Eagleville with his family and owned his own electronic repair business. Later, he moved to Bethany where he started working for B&W furniture as a furniture mover and delivery man for many years.
When David was young dad started helping in the Eagleville Boy Scout troop, and later in the Bethany troop. He became a troop leader and a councilman at the district roundtable. He went to camp Geiger faithfully every year with the troops. He helped work with his son David and later his grandson Kris as they went through the ranks of the Mic-o-say tribe that he himself was honorarily tapped into as Star Image.
He is survived by both children, Jennifer Parsons of Ridgeway, MO and David (Gina) Mossburg of Blythedale, MO and his 4 grandchildren and 2 honorary grandchildren Kristopher Parsons, Camden, Casen, and Cora Mossburg also Kent and Kyle Parsons. He loved his grandchildren dearly and was so proud of all of them. He loved going to their ball games and dance recitals, he was always in the stands cheering for them.
Dad attended church at the Blythedale Baptist Church when he was young with his mother, then found the love of God again as an adult and was saved. He was a faithful member of the Calvary chapel and then Morris chapel for years after he moved to Bethany. He became a board member, the technology coordinator, and a Sunday school teacher. He and his best friend Pam Rhinehart, who he loved dearly, wrote many Christian children's stories together that they would read and act out. He would also come read to his daughter's class once a year for her birthday.
Jerry was an amazing father, brother, and friend. He was very loved and will be missed by many people whose lives he touched.
